Tourists who visit the Cinque Terre National Park could buy, among the different options of the 5 Terre Card, a guided tour to a Spezzino civic museum, accompanied by a tasting of the typical products of the area. That is the operative Agreement between the Municipality of La Spezia and the Park, in the field of "The Tastings at the Museum" Project for mixing culture, food and wine so as to promote and to protect the Spezzino natural and artistic beauties.
Last week the project had been presented, during a conference press in "Lia" Museum, by the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini and Paolo Asti, the Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Promotion of the Town. Even the Cinque Terre Park was present, represented by its president Vincenzo Resasco and its director Patrizio Scarpellini. There were also the delegates of the farmers' trade unions (C.I.A, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura ad UGC-Cisl), the Cadimare Pro Loco, inserted in the project for its anchovies, and the Cinque Terre Cantina Sociale that will provide the Park's typical wines.
"The Tastings at the Museum" had been inserted by the Park among the tourist services of the Card that tourists could buy for 9€ (8€ for the two museums and 1€ for the Park). An income in order to protect the environment and, in particular, to renovate the paths.
The operators inserted into the project have been chosen by the council Administration through an event for farmers and artisans of La Spezia and of Cinque Terre, as well as for bodies and associations that work in the same areas. A Commission, composed by the employees of the Tourism Service and by the Cinque Terre National Park Body, has evaluated the proposals.
An essential requirement for the participants is the presence of local typical products: white, red and sparkling wine; oil; anchovies; mussels; oysters; chickpea flat bread; bread; olives; honey; cheese and lemons.
The tastings schedule, started in June from Thursday the 7th, carries on every Thursday at Camec and every Friday at Lia.
Guided tours will be at 5 pm while the tasting will be at 6 pm. The project will be temporarily suspended in July and in August but it will start again in September.
Not more than 30 people could attend the tasting and participants could choose the museum they prefer.
