Pedestrian access to the Monesteroli steps (stretch of REL path no. 536 from the junction with path no. 535) is not allowed, due to sudden collapse
(sede del Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre, 08 April 2023)Following the report of the collapse of a portion of the steps leading to the Monesteroli village, the Fire Brigade and Mountain Rescue Service promptly intervened to close the stretch of the REL path no. 536 from the junction with path no. 535 to pedestrian access.
In the next few hours, the Park Authority, together with the Municipality of La Spezia, will carry out technical checks to assess the collapse extent and all the necessary restoration works.
