506 (former no. 6) Manarola - Fork no. 1 (Sella di Monte Marvede)

On foot         Great Interest: Flora
  • Forward time: 2 hour/s 40 minutes
  • Return time: 2 hour/s 15 minutes
  • Length: 4.031 km
  • Difference in height: 635m

The path starts in the village of Manarola, then it goes up the valley on the right side of the Groppo stream. Once arrived in the locality of Piè di Fiesse, where paths 502 and 506V branch off on the right, go on for a few meters along the province road SP 51 heading for Groppo. Leave the asphalted road and go up on the left through some olive groves. A tabernacle dedicated to St. Michael can be seen there. Going up on a easy flight of steps, reach the village of Volastra, then cross SP 51, keep going up on the asphalted road (this is the final stretch of the route 503, the way of the Sanctuaries). Take the narrow path on the left which initially runs along an olive grove, and reach the intersection with the alternative route 506V coming from Groppo.
