506 (former no. 6) Manarola - Fork no. 1 (Sella di Monte Marvede)

On foot         Great Interest: Flora
  • Forward time: 2 hour/s 40 minutes
  • Return time: 2 hour/s 15 minutes
  • Difficulty Level: EE - For expert hikers
  • Length: 4.031 km
  • Difference in height: 635m

The path starts in the built-up area of Manarola, then it moves on the right side of the stream Groppo. Once arrived in the locality of Piè di Fiesse, where the path 502 branches off on the right, one goes on for a few meters along the state street SS 370 Litoranea heading for Groppo. Leaving the asphalted road one climbs on the left through some cultivated areas. Here it is noteworthy the presence of a votive aedicula dedicated to St. Michael. Going back along the coast one reaches the built-up area of Volastra. After having passed the latter and crossed the SS 370 again, one goes on climbing along a dirt road (it is the end stretch of the route 503, the way of the Sanctuaries).
Walking along an olive grove one reaches the confluence with the alternative route 506V coming from Groppo.
