The route departs from the built-up area of Levanto, from the road open to vehicles situated below the train station. The route moves on a mule track embellished with a stone bridge with semi-circular arch.
Then it goes on uphill up to the locality of Fontona through an olive grove. Once passed the built-up area the route enters the wood consisting of chestnut trees and pines. After a small distance, on the left, the connection 574C - which allows people to visit the recently renovated  Madonna del Soccorso Sanctuary - branches off. The route is now a wide dirt road going uphill towards Colla di Gritta, near the bar-restaurant, which is a graft point with the route 591.
