Descend briefly by crossing a bridge over the Rio della Groppa () to go up through some strips of terraced land for the cultivation of the olive tree (6 - ). After passing the Fosso del Canaletto (7), go up along a stone mule track () until you reach a panoramic point from which you can admire the town of Corniglia (), the valley with the Guvano beach below  () and, at the top on the right (8), the village of San Bernardino, located on the edge of a large landslide movement. The climb continues, through a reed bed and a small open space (), until you reach the small built-up area of Prevo (280 m) (9). From here the path continues on a flat slope through thick olive groves up to the downhill staircase (10) that leads to the steep coast of Macereto, between prickly pears and agaves, among which it is not so rare to see some hawks in flight. The entrance to Vernazza is heralded by the breathtaking view that appears before the hiker: the village, with the tower of its castle, recalls the bow of a ship that proudly stands out among the infinite shades of blue given by the meeting between sea and sky ( - 11). Entering the inhabited area, you reach, through the central via Roma (12), the town square, beautifully framed by the sea ().
