The path continues on some stone staiways, then becomes clay, climbing steeply along the coast, in some narrow and exposed sections. Continue by crossing a bridge over the Rio Riolo, after which climb a steep mule track that quickly gains altitude; the climb ends in the panoramic stopping place among the olive trees of Costa Mesorano (150 mt. a.s.l.) (4), where there is the terminus of one of the many monorail trains that run through the cultivated fields, in the territory of the Cinque Terre National Park.

Continuing through a series of frequent ups and downs, without major difference in height, you will overcome rare wetlands crossed by ditches and canals rich in biodiversity (), in a context otherwise entirely dominated by the Mediterranean scrub (). One of these valleys is cut through by the Acquapendente channel which below, on the cliff, collects the waters of the Mulinaro and then flows into the sea through a high waterfall, visible only from the sea.

Before reaching the village of Monterosso, the second part of the path is crossed by ancient lemon groves and terraced vineyards of the Vetua farm (). The path begins to lose altitude through a long series of steps flanked by high stone walls to protect the vineyards (). Finally descend on the magnificent cliff of Punta Corone (5), from which it is possible to admire the old village of Monterosso and the hill of San Cristoforo, on which the Capuchin convent and the Church of San Francesco stand ().
