The alternative route 593V departs from the former 3A path, and from the marine area of Riomaggiore it becomes steeper and more panoramic at the same time; it crosses the junction road between Riomaggiore and the Litoranea first, and then, after having passed along the cemetery, it also crosses the Litoranea itself, following it for about 200 m towards La Spezia before going back to climb the steep staircase leading to the sanctuary among cultivated areas and the maquis. Along the state street there is a votive aedicula dating back to 2009 representing the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
