The REL SVA trail from Monterosso to Corniglia, closed in recent months for maintenance work, restoration of accessibility, and conservation of dry stone structures, is now reopened following an inspection conducted this morning by geologists appointed by the Park Authority.
The Park has intervened on the Monterosso - Vernazza - Corniglia SVA Trail, through its maintenance staff and the personnel of the Cinque Terre ATI Consortium, to address a series of specific critical issues identified following the meteorological events that occurred in recent months, leading to significant collapses of dry stone walls above and below the trail, tree falls, and accumulation of materials and rubble along the path.
Experienced operators have carried out a series of planned interventions by the Park's trails office, including the reconstruction of dry stone walls using locally recovered or helicopter-transported stone material; restoration of the functionality of water regulation structures through the cleaning of drainage channels and waterways; clearing of debris and removal of invasive vegetation through tree cutting and stacking, mowing, and blowing; reconstruction of staircases; and the repair and replacement of deteriorated railings.
