The trail begins with a stairway, beyond a slight uphill slope on the promenade of Fegina nearby the statue called "Il Gigante". With your back to the sea, climb in the north-west direction, at first up a flight of steps, then along a stretch of paved road. Near the junction leading to Hotel Bellevue, still within the Mediterranean scrub, the trail keeps going uphill alternating flights of steps and dirt track, until the fork between the SVA leading towards Levanto and trail 591 northbound. After a few hundred meters, staying on the 590-SVA route, you will find the Sant'Antonio al Mesco hermitage, where the trail ends. In this last part, you could enjoy a wonderful view of the Cinque Terre. A little further on there is the "Semaforo": a military traffic light station in a state of neglect.
