From the place called Il Termine trail 591 follows the former track of path No.1 to Levanto, while the AV5T continues along the ridge toward Foce Bardellone. Nearby Il Termine there is also the ending point of 582. Trail 591 follows the provincial road SP 38 for about 2,2 km, passing by the Sanctuary of Soviore (ending point of trail 509), and arriving at the hill pass named Colla di Gritta. From there on it ascends through a pinewood toward the Mesco promontory, passing beneath the peaks of mounts Molinelli, Rossini and Montenegro, until reaching after a series of ups and downs the Bagari hill pass, where other trails (571C, 572, 573 and 588 to Levanto) end.
The hill pass offers highly panoramic views on both sides, from the Cinque Terre seashore and the village of Monterosso, to the western Ligurian coastline toward Genoa and the Maritime Alps. The main path continues almost level along the eastern side of mount Focone, first among strawberry trees (Arbutus unedo), then penetrating a pine forest spoilt by the Matsucoccus (a plant disease that struck over the years throughout the Apennines). Shortly after there is a stunningly panoramic observation point overlooking the Cinque Terre, in the vicinity of the ruins of the Saint Anthony hermitage (11th century). A few meters away there is the abandoned military building called "Semaforo". Before reaching the hermitage, nearby a small observation tower, the trail continues on as part of the Verde-Azzurro trail to Levanto.
