535 (former no. 4b) Campiglia - Fossola

On foot         Great Interest: Flora Great Interest: Hystory
  • Forward time: 1 hour/s 30 minutes
  • Return time: 1 hour/s 45 minutes
  • Length: 3.756 km
  • Difference in height: 199m

From Campiglia, which is an important stop point along the AV5T, the route takes the Codemin alley. The cemented road surface soon becomes a path and, through well preserved terraces (some cultivated with saffron, which was reintroduced by the Campiglia association), one reaches a panoramic point equipped with a wooden bench. From here the path climbs down in a more and more woody environment (holm oak) up to a stone vertical "wall" adorned with engraved inscriptions.
In the area a route branches off on the left side - route 504C - and leads to Schiara. Following the slightly descending main way one reaches the crossing point over the Schiara hole, in a very fascinating woody environment, soon reaching the first hairpin turn of the asphalted road between S.Antonio and Schiara.
